Returns & Exchanges

At Western Heritage, we believe in straight talk and delivering authentic Western, quality goods. We’re a small shop built on honesty, hustle, and heart. While we do things a little differently than the big guys, we’re here to make sure you love what you ordered.

Unlike big-box stores, we don’t have endless warehouses or corporate backing. Every return impacts our small team and the care we put into every package we send. While we’re always happy to make things right if something isn’t perfect, we kindly ask that returns be made thoughtfully—so we can keep doing what we love: bringing you the best of Western style with true small-town service.

Return Eligibility

We gladly accept returns within 14 days of delivery on items that are:
• Unworn
• Unwashed
• In resellable condition
• With original tags still attached

Final sale items, earrings (for sanitary reasons), gift cards, and custom or personalized orders cannot be returned. If you have questions about a specific item, please feel free to reach out before placing your order.

To start a return, email help@shopwesternheritage.com. Once approved, we’ll send you instructions and a return label if eligible. Items must be shipped within 7 days of receiving the return label to remain eligible.

Restocking Fees

We’re proud to offer flexible returns when things don’t work out just right. That said, we charge a small restocking fee to help offset packaging loss and the time spent re-processing items.

Here’s the roundup:

Standard returns: A 5% restocking fee is applied to most returns. Return shipping is the responsibility of the customer unless the return is due to a mistake on our end (wrong item, defective product) or it's an exchange.

A higher restocking fee (up to 25%) may apply if:
• Items are returned with strong odors (smoke, perfume, etc.)
• Items appear laundered, worn, or damaged
• Orders reflect excessive or frivolous purchasing (e.g., ordering many sizes/styles and returning most of the order)

We always evaluate each return fairly, but our priority is keeping our inventory clean, fresh, and ready for the next customer.

Unsellable Items

We cannot issue refunds for items returned in unsellable condition—this includes visible wear, odors, stains, pet hair, or damage. If we attempt to launder or repair an item and it remains unsellable, the return will be denied. You may request the item be shipped back to you at your own expense.

Exchanges & Defective Items

If your item arrives damaged, or if you need a different size, we’ll always do our best to make it right. In these cases:
• Return shipping is covered by us
• Restocking fees are typically waived
• We’ll walk you through the exchange process with care

Please inspect your order as soon as it arrives and contact us right away if anything looks off.

Refunds

Refunds will be issued for items returned within the designated return window, provided they are unused, unworn, and in their original condition with all tags attached. Please note that return shipping costs and a small restocking fee will be deducted from the refund amount, along with a small restocking fee to cover processing and repackaging expenses. Exchanges, however, are eligible for free return shipping. 

To initiate a return or exchange, please email us at help@shopwesternheritage.com. We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method. We process returns in order of which we receive them. Please note that it can take banks  7-10 business days to reflect the refund to your account.
